The Inventor's Practical Guide
By Daniel Paquette
The description of the invention
After reviewing the confidential disclosure form, the assessor will draft the invention description. If they have any doubts about its accuracy, they will contact the inventor to clarify any unclear points. It is extremely important that the description accurately reflects the invention, as a flawed description could mislead the search agent and, ultimately, the patent drafter. Therefore, before proceeding to the prior art search stage, the inventor must sign a document acknowledging that the description in their report fully reflects their invention.
